• Edelweiss Festival

The “Floare de Colț” Folk Gala (Romanian: “Edelweiss”) is one of Romania’s most beloved folk‑music festivals, taking place in the scenic Parcul „Grădina Morii” in Sighetu Marmației. This year, the festival is planned for 17–18 August 2025. First launched in 2013, the event has steadily grown in reputation, blending the excitement of a music competition with the warmth of folk tradition. Selected performers share the stage with some of Romania’s most cherished artists, including Ducu Bertzi, Ștefan Hrușcă, Narcisa Suciu, and Mircea Vintilă.

  • Directed by legendary folk singer Ducu Bertzi, a native of Sighetu Marmației, the Gala draws both local audiences and folk lovers from across the country. It brings together the energy of a contest with the celebratory spirit of open‑air concerts, award ceremonies, and musical evenings under the stars. Widely covered by national media, the festival promotes Romania’s folk heritage while inspiring and showcasing new voices in the genre.

  • By attending the “Floare de Colț” Gala, you not only enjoy top-tier music in a stunning Carpathian setting—you also support the local communities, artisans, and cultural life of northern Romania. Sighetu Marmației lies right by the Ukrainian border, allowing for cross-border visits when conditions permit.
